Air Tractor’s goal with the AT-402B was to combine turboprop power with an affordable price. And we reached the goal! First by designing a compact and efficient airframe, then specifying an exceptionally powerful and reliable PT6A turbine for increased rate of climb and cruising speed.
We designed an elongated wing, with a high aspect ratio, and “Hoerner” wingtips to increase its efficiency, reduce drag and actuation forces on the controls. The controls are light and responsive, considerably reducing pilot fatigue. The end result is an agricultural plane that pilots love to fly, even at the end of a long day of work.
Fast charging time, superior visibility, faster travel speeds, ultra-quiet engine, shorter take-off and landing distances with load, wider application circuits, reduced maintenance and fuel costs – get it all with the 402B.
